Veterans are being misled: Military myths and Social Security

Article Title: Veterans are being misled: Military myths and Social Security

Article Excerpt: "...Here are the facts in a nutshell: If you were in the military anytime up until 2001, the government may add a small amount of additional earnings to your Social Security record. Note that I am NOT talking about extra money added to your Social Security check. These are simply extra earnings incorporated into your Social Security earnings record – the record upon which your Social Security monthly benefit is based.

As a result, they contributed little or nothing to Social Security, and will be left with little or no Social Security retirement benefit – proving the administration’s justification meritless. If passed, this budget will affect nearly every Vietnam-era veteran whose survival depends on their IU income. Haven’t they already endured enough atrocity in war and at home ..."
